6 Authorisations granted for 2 substances

On 26 October 2022, the European Commission granted 6 Authorisations for the following substances:

1. 4-(1,1,3,3-Tetra methylbutyl)phenol, ethoxylated (4-tert-OPnEO)

2. 4-Nonylphenol, branched and linear, ethoxylated (4-NPnEO)

The Authorisations are held by 2 companies and concern 4 Authorised uses:

1. Authorisation number REACH/22/43/0 is held by Idexx Montpellier SAS, and approves the use of 4-tert-OPnEO as detergent in the technical manufacturing of in vitro diagnostic veterinary ELISA Plate tests (plate coating) to prevent the non-specific binding of unwanted macromolecules.

2. Authorisation number REACH/22/43/1 is held by Idexx Montpellier SAS, and approves the use of 4-tert-OPnEO in the manufacture of sample diluents and standard solutions used in in vitro diagnostic veterinary ELISA Plate tests used for the detection of infectious diseases in livestock and poultry.

3. Authorisation numbers REACH/22/43/2 and REACH/22/43/3 are held by Idexx Montpellier SAS and Idexx B.V. respectively, and approve the use of 4-tert-OPnEO in in vitro diagnostic veterinary products (SNAP tests and ELISA Plate tests) as an ingredient in the wash solutions, sample diluents, control solutions, conjugate solutions, SNAP wash solutions, tissue soaking buffers and detection solutions.

4. Authorisation numbers REACH/22/43/4 and REACH/22/43/5 are held by Idexx Montpellier SAS and Idexx B.V. respectively, and approve the use of 4-NPnEO in in vitro diagnostic veterinary products (SNAP tests and ELISA Plate tests) as an ingredient in the wash solutions, sample diluents, control solutions, conjugate solutions, SNAP wash solutions, tissue soaking buffers and detection solutions.
