Modern Slavery Act 2015: Yordas Group slavery and human trafficking statement

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person's liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain. In the UK, the legislation we actively encourage compliance with is the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our supply chains. Yordas Group is rapidly growing in terms of staff we employ, the range of services and our revenues. "Commercial organisations" (body corporates or partnerships carrying on any part of their business in the UK) that supply goods or services and have a minimum turnover of £36 million (including turnover of subsidiaries) are required to produce a "slavery and human trafficking statement" each financial year. We do not yet have such disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. However, our Board is determined to promote highly ethical principles within our business and transparency in our supply chains. This is considered the right thing to do.

As such we are making the following steps:

a) We ensure we operate our business ethically and in compliance with the Act;

b) We do due diligence on our contractors to establish whether they operate their businesses ethically and would not deal with those who willingly disregard those principles; and

c) Our Board of Directors monitors compliance with this policy and ensures its revision and update every financial year.

We expect the same high standards from all of our suppliers, customers and other business partners, and as part of our contracting processes, we include specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory or trafficked labour, or anyone held in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, and we expect that our suppliers will hold their own suppliers to the same high standards.
