European REACH Regulation Services

Exploring your options and meeting obligations under the European Union's REACH Regulation (Registration, Evaluation, and Authorisation of Chemical Substances – EC No. 1907/2006)

The REACH Regulation is EU’s overarching chemicals legislation and one of the most complex and multi-faceted pieces of legislation in the Union’s history. REACH addresses the manufacture, import and use of chemicals and impacts not only EU companies but also those around the world, either directly or indirectly.

If you manufacture or import into Europe a substance in a quantity of 1 tonne/year or more, then you are likely to need to register that substance with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). There are a number of alternative approaches to Registration and Yordas can help you to find the most appropriate and effective route through this process.

Our REACH consultancy services can support your work at any and every stage of the process, including any contact with ECHA. Our regulatory consultants are supported by experts in chemistry, nanomaterials, toxicology, ecotoxicology, environmental fate and exposure/risk assessment.

Substances of very high concern (SVHC) are a key target for ECHA’s risk management activities. SVHC’s are typically carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic to reproduction and can also include PBT’s and endocrine disruptors. Whilst they may still be used to an extent, they will ultimately become restricted or even prohibited entirely. There are also additional supply chain communication obligations for companies that produce or import articles containing SVHC’s above 0.1 %w/w, and possibly notification to ECHA in some cases.
