SDS regulation 2020/878 – Deadline for new format approaching soon

  • Yordas Group Lancaster Environment Centre LA1 4YQ United Kingdom (map)

On June 25th, 2020, the European Commission published Regulation (EU) 2020/878, which amends Annex II of the REACH regulation. Regulation (EU) 2020/878 sets out the content and format for Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) within the EU and repeals Regulation (EU) 2015/830.

SDS play a vital role in communicating hazard information throughout the supply chain. If this information is inadequate the user, then may not be handling the chemical product safely. Regulation (EU) 2020/878 includes new requirements to communicate information relating to nanomaterials and endocrine disrupting substances.

The deadline to comply with the new requirements is fast approaching, meaning all SDS supplied in the EU must comply with this new format. Are you ready?
