Following the European Union’s lead, Turkey published its implementation of REACH (KKDIK) in the Official Gazette on the date 23 June 2017. KKDIK repealed and replaced CICR (Chemical Inventory and Control Regulation 27092).
Like EU-REACH, KKDIK requires pre-registration and registration for substances that are manufactured or placed on the market in Turkey in quantities greater than 1t/y, either on their own or in mixtures, or in articles with an intended release.
In contrast with EU-REACH, KKDIK does not set out separate pre-registration and registration deadlines depending on the classification of the substance or the annual tonnage band.
That means the deadline for registration is tighter than it was for EU REACH, making it important to choose the right partner.
Yordas’ consulting expertise, which stems from years of supporting clients with EU REACH, has expanded to other regions (US, Canada, South Korea REACH, Taiwan TCCSCA and OSHA etc.). Through our collaboration with local partners, we have established a wealth of unique expertise, capabilities and knowledge covering every step of registration.
We have gained significant experience in data sharing discussions and negotiations within consortia and SIEFs, and have demonstrable expertise in the technical aspects of dossier preparation, including exposure modelling and fulfilling endpoints with non-animal testing methods. Our local partner in Turkey is an extension of our team and holds all the certification and skills required to submit the KKDIK registration.
Well-established communication with the competent authorities and in-house regulatory monitoring using our software Yordas Hive ensures we are up-to-date with Turkish and other global regulatory developments.
