ECHA Enforcement Authorities To Begin Inspection Of Poison Centre Notifications Post 2025 Deadline

Announced recently, ECHA’s enforcement authorities will initiate a project to check if duty holders have notified hazardous mixtures to poison centres in accordance with Annex VIII to CLP. Inspections will begin in January 2025 for a duration of 6 months, following the deadline to complete all Poison Centre Notifications.

Inspections will include checking if notifications have been submitted and the compliance of labels and safety data sheets. More information on the scope of the inspection is expected to be released in upcoming months.

The enforcement campaign aims to ensure downstream users and importers that place hazardous mixtures on the EU market provide standardised information to be used by poison centres in the event of an emergency (Article 45 CLP).

A PCN is required if your products are classified as hazardous based on health or physical.
