Vietnam Launches National Chemical Database

On 2nd August, Vietnam National Chemical Database was officially launched by Vietnam Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT). The database has 5 functions which are:

  • To support the governmental management and administrative procedures of chemicals according to the law and regulations (accessible on the platform)
  • To share chemical substance information between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other governmental agencies
  • To manage and generate data for chemical risk assessment and other management needs
  • To share GHS information and classification of chemicals for business and the public
  • To prepare data and measures for emergency

The database is only available in Vietnamese and includes three sections:

  • Homepage with news on chemical management
  • Chemical management regulations
  • A section for searching information on chemical substances in Vietnam (CAS No., substance names, regulations managing the substance, tonnage and other administrative information)
