MoE proposed Regulation on Recycling of Electrical Products containing Hazardous Substances

On 4th October, Ministry of Environment (MOE) published a revision to the Regulation of Electrical and Electronic Products for Hazardous Substances. The public consultation ended on 14th November. The main changes to the regulation include:

  • An increase in the number of product types from 26 to 49;
  • Addition of four phthalate substances requiring testing: (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIPB)
  • A change in the penalties for violation.
