EPA published draft Incentive Measure for Toxic Chemical Operators

On 27th February, Taiwan EPA published the draft regulation Incentive Measures for Toxic Chemical Operators with a 60-day consultation period. The change in this draft regulation are as follows:

  • Several terms in the regulation have been revised
  • R&D in green chemistry innovation is encouraged
  • Companies responsible for chemical accidents do not qualify to apply for incentives
  • The award will be granted every two years
  • Rules on formulation and operation of awarding panel has been revised
  • Rules on restriction on the re-election of past winners have been revised
  • The penalties for violation of the rules have been changed
